At Envisage Spaces Group, apprenticeships are at the heart of how we work and grow. We believe in proving yourself and achieving success through hands-on experience, where every day learning is key.
As National Apprenticeship Week 2025 unfolds, we are proudly celebrating our strong commitment to apprenticeships and the incredible impact they have on the company’s success. ESG’s apprenticeships provide the skills and qualifications needed for a career in exhibitions, events, and interiors. Apprentices are valued as part of the team, with real opportunities to contribute and shape the company’s future.
In an ever-evolving industry, keeping up with trends and inspiration means that learning is something we do every day, both as individuals and as a business. That’s why we’re proud to have 6 apprentices in our current team, working across all aspects of the business. We believe that developing the habit of continuous learning, is a skill that apprentices can carry far beyond the end of their apprenticeships and one that will develop them as individuals in whatever career path they choose.
Words from our Joinery Manager, Robert Edwards:
“Having apprentices at ESG is vital to the business. We’ve always had a strong relationship with Stoke-on-Trent College, and their apprentices bring new skills and fresh experiences to the team. It’s something we all learn from. In exhibitions, particularly, it’s often a whole new world for most apprentices, as it’s not something you typically get taught at college beforehand. That’s why it’s so important to us that we connect what they learn in the workshop with what they need to know for their qualifications. But beyond that, it’s about setting them up for the future – helping them to become well-rounded individuals who can thrive in the world of work.”
Words from our Joinery Apprentice, Alex Gwilt:
“As a first-year apprentice, this apprenticeship has helped me grow my communication skills, making it easier for me to work in smaller and larger teams on the wide range of projects we handle here at ESG. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s thinking about starting out. It’s a great way to pick up new skills in something you enjoy, and it eases any worries about finding work because you’re already on the job. At ESG, I’ve always felt supported. Everyone’s passionate about the projects we work on, and it’s easy to learn fast when you’re surrounded by people who want to help you succeed.”
Words from our Marketing Apprentice, Lauren Barratt:
“After leaving school, I was lucky enough to try the university route and realised it wasn’t for me, so I switched to an apprenticeship. And I’m so glad I did. It’s a different kind of learning – developing skills that university can’t teach you, like teamwork skills and how to deal with challenging situations, which are just as important as the technical side of things. ESG have supported me with any additional courses I’m interested in and given me opportunities to be involved in exciting projects around the country.”
Apprenticeships at ESG are about more than just learning a trade – they’re about setting young individuals up for a long-term career. Our HR Director and Business Development Director both started as apprentices and are now real-life advocates of how practical learning leads to real success. Our advice to anyone considering an apprenticeship? Give it a shot. We are continuing to invest in the next generation of talent and match the effort you put in, so there’s no limit to what you can achieve with us.
